Assists in establishing priorities for all summer projects, work orders, and requests for facility usage from various departments.Assists in communicating and maintaining Safety Data Sheets.

Assists in establishing, through written specifications, the procedures and methods of mixing and distributing all cleaning chemicals, floor finishers, and any other products which are used by the Custodial and Maintenance departments.

Assists with quarterly safety inspections.

Serves as inspector on all custodial projects by noting quality and quantity of material and methods of cleaning and disinfecting.

Establishes and maintains superior public relations with District personnel and the community.

Instills in administration a sense of trust and confidence by consistently displaying competence, reliability and willingness to support and serve.

Handles all situations with a sense of urgency. Ensures the coordination of manpower and materials to achieve and maintain the highest possible standards.

Assists in assigning work assignments to other custodians (associates) following through with their completion.Performs tasks of Custodian 1 as assigned by the Custodial Manager.Demonstrating acceptable interpersonal skills and relations with co-workers, staff, students, and the general public are requirements for this position. Additionally, this position requires lamp replacement, operation of mechanical cleaning equipment, removing trash from grounds and playgrounds, watering turf, sweeping sidewalks, and performing other tasks associated with our housekeeping and snow removal programs.

Typical duties include cleaning classrooms, conference rooms, lecture halls, study halls, cafeterias, libraries, gymnasiums, locker rooms, restrooms, offices, athletic areas, hallways, common areas, and outside building areas. This position requires moderate physical strength to perform routine cleaning tasks, ensuring beautiful, safe facilities for children and MPS staff. Shift time is 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, with some opportunity for overtime.
